About Randy Bell
I am thankful for many of my teachers in my life and especially my ninth grade art teacher who saw some potential for creating art in the work that I did in her class. I always had that in my mind as I pursued my career with the Ohio Department of Natural Resources. After retiring from ODNR I was then free to pursue my desire of creating art. I have taken art lessons in watercolor from two instructors, general painting lessons from local artist Jim Glover, and on-line instruction from Canadian artist Johannes Vloothuis. I have purchased and read hundreds of art how-to books and have purchased and watched DVD' s by artists I admire including Marcia Burtt, Stephen Quiller, Mark Carder, Jeanne Dobie, and Sterling Edwards. I have displayed my artwork in the gallery at the Ohio Department of Natural Resources and the Mac Worthington Gallery in Columbus, Ohio. I enjoy photography and paint many of the photos. When I am not painting, I am propagating shrubs, riding my bike, or playing my guitar.
